Camp.

Leadership.
Strong in Culture.
Self-empowerment.

Jipungwayi aims to offer community led youth engagement programs that promote positive behaviour among young people. We endeavour to redirect youth away from anti – social behaviour by offering a variety of engaging programs.

Jipungwayi places a strong emphasis on strengthening and maintaining a connection to culture for Indigenous youth. We believe that – as First Nations people – our physical and mental well-being is directly tied to our connection to culture and country, thus, we will build this connection through On Country Camps.

Jipungwayi’s Deliverables:

Ø  Develop a program that improves participants sense of self, self-esteem and sense of place and culture

Ø  Establish a strong partnership with local Elders to improve young people’s knowledge of culture

Ø  Develop a program that teaches resilience and skills to assist in coping with life’s challenges

Ø  Establish a partnership between young people and the key stakeholders in community to assist with employment opportunities

We work closely with traditional owners of who’s country we are on and include community members and key stakeholders where appropriate, modelling to our young people that our community is our strength.
